Monday 12th February will be a momentous day for Kilkenny Swim Club.
For the first time ever a club member will compete at the World Swimming Championships.
The action takes place in Doha for a week where Callan's swim queen Maria Godden will take to the pool with a green, white and gold tricolour on her hat yet with fellow Kilkenny swimmers past and present urging on every stroke.
The backstroke specialist will definitely swim three events at the Championships 50m, 100m and 200m on the 12th, 14th and 16th respectively.
Maria is also entered in 4x400m freestyle relay on Sunday 11th, however the final team will not be announced until race day.
The Irish quartet need to finish in the worlds top 16 to secure an Olympic spot in Paris.
Set Your Alarm! The heat sessions start at 9:30am local time which is 6:30am in Ireland, Monday 12th February.
